The Peak District was the first National Park to be established and is now the most visited in Britain.
Miller's Dale and the Monsal Trail are one and a half miles away from the Hall and the Limestone Way is within half a mile.

The tranquil Monsal Trail

There are good walks in all directions right on the doorstep. The Monsal, High Peak, Tissington and Manifold Trails are all disused railways given over to walking and cycling and are within easy reach.
There are some of the finest country houses in England, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and the historic village of Eyam within easy reach.

Chatsworth House

There is an excellent swimming pool in Buxton and an open air one in Hathersage.

A view of Buxton

Many of the country's top climbers live in the locality to take advantage of the huge variety of climbing in the area. Two of the foremost gliding and hangliding sites are close by as is horse riding and fly & coarse fishing. Visit fabulous limestone caverns, Crich Tramway Museum, Riber Zoo, Arkwright's Mill and Gullivers Kingdom.

Looking over Bakewell, the only town in the Peak Park.
