The
Peak District was the first National Park to be established and is now
the most visited in Britain.
There
are good walks in all directions right on the doorstep. The Monsal,
High Peak, Tissington and Manifold Trails are all disused railways given
over to walking and cycling and are within easy reach.
|
There
is an excellent swimming pool in Buxton and an open air one in Hathersage.
Many
of the country's top climbers live in the locality to take advantage
of the huge variety of climbing in the area. Two of the foremost gliding
and hangliding sites are close by as is horse riding and fly &
coarse fishing. Visit fabulous limestone caverns, Crich Tramway Museum,
Riber Zoo, Arkwright's Mill and Gullivers Kingdom.
