Pete's Pages - where do you want to go today?

Who is Pete and what is Pete's Pages?

Pete is in his 30's has spent most of his life in the peak district. When we first met hit he seemed to know everyone in the area and knew lots of great places to go. So we have decided to write some of them down so you can have plenty of ideas for what you want to do when you stay here.

Bugsworth Canal Basin

Bugworth Canal Basin is located in the village of Buxworth, near Chapel-en-le-Frith. It is one end of the Peak Forest Canal. In its hey day Bugworth was one of the busiest inland ports in the country. The main cargo was limestone from various peak district quarries. Bugsworth Basin would have been a very industiral spot but now is very picturesque with enough remains of walls, tramlines and structures that you can get an idea of how it would have been like.
