Tourist board graded or not?
As we have been quality graded and listed on the Peak District Tourist Board's website, you can be certain that the self catering accommodation that we offer will meet the high standards that you would expect of a 3 star self catering property.
The grading process itself is quite simple. There is a list of items and services which are deemed to be important to guests and we are benchmarked against them. The assessment itself is carried out by a third party on behalf of Visit Britain (the Tourist Board). Some of the things are factual eg is bed linen provided, are there enough seats for everyone etc and some are more subjective eg what is the overall impression, what is the condition of things etc. In addition to this we ask all guests to fill in a questionnaire so that we can find out what is important to our guests. After all, this is more important to us than an imaginary "typical" guest!
Once the grading has been carried out, the grading is passed to the regional body - in our case the Peak District Tourist Board.
