Who is responsible for booking the registrar ?

You are. You are also responsible for paying the registrars charges and costs.

Can we use a marquee?

Yes. We have a marquee on site which is used for wedding breakfasts. The Main Hall can seat up to 60, above this the marquee will be needed.

Can we book the venue for our wedding, but not the accommodation?

Unfortunately not. The accommodation is an integral part of the venue. We would not be able to let out the apartments if you were holding a wedding. However any apartments that are not used are charged at half price. The only exception to this is our Midweek Wedding package, for which accommodation is not included.

What are the arrival and departure times?

You can arrive anytime after 16:00 on the day of your arrival (typically Friday) and you must leave by 10:00 on the day of your departure (typically Monday). If this does not suit you please discuss it with us. We will be flexible where possible.

How much car parking space is there?

There is parking for about 40 cars

Do we have to have the wedding ceremony in the main hall?

Generally yes. This is the primary part of the building that is licensed. The tennis pavilion is also licensed, but it's use is very dependent on the weather. If you particularly want to get married in another part of the building please discuss this with us as we may be able to get it licensed as well.

Can we have our deposit back if we have to cancel?

No. All deposits paid are non refundable,and additionally, depending on when you cancel you may be liable for some or all of the final balance. If you are worried about this we suggest that you consider taking out wedding insurance.

Are candles permitted?

No. Candles are not permitted in any part of the building or marquee. Lanterns are allowed outside.

Who is responsible for setting up and clearing away?

You are. We operate on a self catering and self managed basis. However you can always "buy in" staff to do some or all of this for you.

Are fireworks permitted?

No. Due the close proximity of livestock we do not allow fireworks other than on 5th November.

Can we decorate in the hall ?

Yes you can, however please do not pin, tape or otherwise attach anything to the walls or woodwork. Any damage caused, by doing so will be charged for.

What about alcohol?

You can either provide your own drinks or we can arrange for a pay bar to be laid on for you. All bars are to be set up in the entrance lobby, although a drinks table or similar is perfectly OK in the marquee as well (for those hiring it)
