Mr and Mrs Barlow Wedding

Mr and Mrs Barlow (Emma and Nicholas) got married at Hargate Hall on the 4th of January 2020. Who doesn’t love a winter wedding? Especially when the Hargate Hall Christmas tree makes such a statement piece in our Hall. We asked them to share their wedding story, some of their favourite moments, and the best advice and top tips they’d give to any other couples considering Hargate.

Why did you choose Hargate Hall?

We chose Hargate because it’s such a beautiful place. It was ideal for us to get married at Hargate, as we didn’t just want a wedding, but we wanted the family to get together for a whole weekend of laughter, fun, and celebrations. Little did we know what 2020 would bring, and how glad we would be to have such special memories to treasure.

Tell us about your wedding day? What did you love? How did the weekend flow?

To sum our wedding day, we’d simply say it was relaxed and easy, just want we wanted. We got ready at the Hall and enjoyed the build-up, whilst spending time with family. Our ceremony took place at 1.30pm in the Hall and a lovely buffet followed it.

We spent the afternoon with friends and family and loved everyone being together. We had a fish and chip van in the evening to feed everyone, which worked perfectly! Fish and chips suited everyone, and it was easy to arrange. After we’d fuelled up, we then relaxed at the sound of my niece singing, which we all had a bit of a dance to. We finished the evening with a little sprinkle of partying to end a perfect day.

If you could sum up your Hargate Hall wedding in three words, what would they be?

Beautiful, relaxing, family orientated.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about getting married at Hargate Hall?

Definitely book! You won’t be disappointed.

We loved our wedding day; it was everything we hoped it would be. The main hall is amazing when it’s all done up and decorated. Especially with the fairy lights and Christmas tree. Honestly, it feels so special with the impressive staircase to walk down and all your guests looking up at you. It’s a moment we’ll never forget!
